Protect your Swimming pool with a Pool cover Installation.

If you are anyone who has lived in the Montgomery County & Philadelphia area, you are probably aware of the rapid seasonal changes that occur throughout the year. Many pool owners get a limited amount of time a year where they can enjoy their swimming pool.

During the winter months, choosing the right pool cover is crucial for your pool’s survivability. A good swimming pool cover will keep all leaves & debris from scratching or staining your swimming pool.  But our covers aren’t just limited by these features, they can also save you money!

Having a pool cover installed will cut down your electricity/heater bills for your pool, reduce the amount of chemicals you need to maintenance your pool, and prevent your pool water (along with your money) from evaporating into the atmosphere.

What kind of pool covers do we install?

Royal Pool Service focuses strictly on safety covers because they are the safest and most durable swimming pool Covers. Safety covers can also hold large amounts of weight, preventing potential drowning accidents for animals, children, and even adults.

Unlike winter covers, safety covers float over top of the pool and are fastened by heavy duty anchors on the pool deck. The pool safety cover is perfectly fitted and adjusted so the weight of a person, animal, or debris, won’t sink the pool cover when stepped on.

There are two different types of safety covers that we install; solid covers and mesh covers. Read more to find out the benefits, disadvantages, and costs of each pool cover.

Mesh Safety Cover

mesh safety cover

Winter covers just don’t compare to the mesh safety cover. With strong anchor support and an extremely durable woven design, this makes for an amazing safety cover choice for a pool cover installation.

The mesh safety cover comes with the unique feature of the permeable woven design. This pool design filters all leaves, large debris, and dirt while taking the excess water from rain and snow through the small holes in the pool cover. This makes for a very easy clean up when opening a pool the following season.

You don’t want to buy a pool cover that can’t hold more than 500 pounds. You might find yourself with a deer in it.

Our mesh safety pool covers can hold more than 2,000 pounds in weight!

The only maintenance your pool will need after a pool cover installation is done by a winter pool pump. Simply install a pool pump by putting it on the first step of your pool with a hose attached to it. It will pump the water in your pool if it gets above the first step.

Advantages:

  • Less expensive safety cover option, costs $200-600 less than solid pool cover
  • Average lifespan of 10-15 years
  • No required maintenance during offseason
  • Doesn’t require a pool pump because water passes through the cover
  • Can hold 2,000+ lbs of weight
  • Very light, one person can put on and remove.

Disadvantages:

  • Dirty pool water due to runoff rain and snow
  • Risk of algae growing in the pool
  • Risk of stains showing up
  • More maintenance required during pool opening

Solid Safety Cover

solid-safety-pool-cover

Solid Safety Covers are very similar to mesh covers but, hence the name, they are made out of a solid material. These safety covers are made from non-permeable smooth vinyl material, but still share many similarities with the mesh safety cover.

Instead of letting the rain & snow pass through the cover, a safety cover is non-permeable and requires a pool pump. To completely finish a pool cover installation, you must place a pool cover submersible pump on top of the cover. This is to prevent the weight of accumulated water from tearing your pool cover.

Solid safety covers are a fantastic investment for keeping your pool spotless all year round. It does an amazing job at keeping dirty water out of your pool and preventing stains and algae growth on your pool.
